Types of LED Drivers

There are two kinds of LED lamp drivers commonly used in the market. One is constant current drive. The characteristic of constant current drive is that the output current is constant and the output voltage changes in a certain range. So we often see that the shell of the drive is marked (output: DC * * V - * * V * * ma + - 5%). This means that the output voltage is in a certain range and the current is * *ma. Constant current LED lamp is usually used for general lighting.

The other is constant voltage drive. The characteristic of constant voltage drive is that the output voltage is fixed, and the current changes with the number of lamps connected within the maximum value. The shell will generally mark (output: DC * * V * * a) refers to the fixed output voltage and the maximum output current. The common output voltage in LED market is 5V, 12V, 24V, etc. DC 5V is usually used for dynamic, smart, digital, addressable, programmable LED lights. DC 24 V is commonly used in advertising industry to reduce the current and the voltage drop.
